Co-developed by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health (OCMH), Brooklyn-based youth, families, and community organizations—together with the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development and The New School Center for Global Mental Health—EASE NYC equips trusted afterschool staff with tools to help young people ages 10–16 manage stress, strengthen resilience, and build pathways to care.

Caregivers are also engaged through sessions on active listening and positive reinforcement, ensuring skills carry over at home.

Following a successful Brooklyn pilot last spring, EASE is now expanding to 11 afterschool programs across Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan, with a goal of reaching 200 adolescents and 100 caregivers by the end of 2025.
