Licensed social workers needed for new Emergency Response Teams
NYC Health + Hospitals is hiring licensed social workers for new, interdisciplinary Emergency Response Teams. The social workers will play an integral part in the City’s first-ever pilot program to dispatch teams of two Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Technicians and one clinician to 911 calls for mental health emergencies.

The Mental Health Service Corps is hiring social workers
NYC Health + Hospitals is hiring licensed social workers for the Mental Health Service Corps (MHSC), a Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health workforce development program that aims to build a diverse generation of mental health clinicians, equipped to integrate behavioral health into a variety of settings. As part of MHSC, early-career clinicians are placed throughout the NYC Health + Hospitals system for 3 years with the goal of enhancing behavioral health delivery through existing and innovative models of care. To ensure a diverse learning experience, clinicians will have the opportunity to practice across multiple clinical settings such as primary care clinics, child/adolescent and adult outpatient clinics, and substance use clinics. Additionally, Corps Members will be trained in evidence-based practices under the supervision of licensed clinicians in order to screen, assess, and treat patients in a culturally responsive manner. Fluency in more than one language is preferred.

Virtual ExpressCare BH is a 24/7 service that offers a simple and easy way for NYC Health + Hospitals patients to access high-quality and affordable virtual urgent mental health and substance use care services. Reporting directly to the ExpressCare BH Clinical Supervisor or designee, the ExpressCare BH Social Worker carries out protocols identified for the mental health and substance use treatment of adult designated patients reflecting accepted standards of clinical care practice commensurate with the candidate’s training and certification.
