Spaces to Thrive

Spaces to Thrive is a partnership between The New York Public Library and the Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health to spark conversation about mental health and bring free mental health programming to New Yorkers.

With Spaces to Thrive, ThriveNYC’s resources are now available at 13 NYPL branches across the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island, and are amplified through social media at #SpacestoThrive.

New York’s public libraries serve 17 millions patrons a year, including the City’s most underserved communities. By bringing free mental health resources to NYPL branches, we’re helping ensure that mental health knowledge and support is accessible to all—no matter what neighborhood you live in.

Spaces to Thrive includes:

  • Free mental health programming at participating branches
  • A dedicated ThriveNYC section containing books on mental health at participating branches
  • Information about citywide mental health resources and services

East Bronx: Pelham Bay Library, Soundview Library, Westchester Square Library
West Bronx: Francis Martin Library
Midtown: Mid-Manhattan Library at 42nd Street
Lower Manhattan: Kips Bay Library, Mulberry Street Library
East Manhattan: Countee Cullen Library
